Band’s Concession Stand to come down

By Thomas Sellers Jr.

Millington Band Booster Club President Lisa Vogt stands outside of the soon-to-be gone concession stand.

A  petition by a Millington resident living near the Millington Football Stadium is the reason the trailer will be gone after the end of the football season either in October or November.

The concession stand is one of the program’s biggest money makers. Vogt is hoping some volunteers or a contractor will donate time, supplies and labor to build a more eye-pleasing structure to support the band in the future.

The trailer has been used the last few years to sell snacks, food and drinks on the visitors’ side of the stadium. The money made goes toward funding marching competitions and trips to away games. Vogt said the program under the guidance of band director Kevin Duncan needs all the community support it can get. She hopes someone will step up and help the Millington Band build a structure to sell concessions in the future.
