Dupree picks Union Lady Bulldogs

Dupree, No. 37, has been a fixture in the Lady Trojan uniform the past four years. When she graduates she plans to join the Union Lady Bulldogs

The Millington Star has learned via Facebook that Millington Lady Trojan Katlyn Dupree has made her college choice.

The all-time leading soccer in Millington soccer will attend Union University. Dupree’s varsity soccer career started in the eighth grade at Tipton-Rosemark Academy. Then she transferred to Millington Central High School tallying more than 80 career goals including tying the single-season record with 27 last year.

Dupree has 19 goals this season including one score yesterday on Senior Day against the Germantown Lady Red Devils. She is also a member of the Millington Lady Trojan basketball and softball team.

In her high school career, Dupree has been named a Best of the Preps, Star Girls’ Soccer Player of the Season and nominated for Star Female Athlete of the Year. She has a 3.8 grade-point average.

Union University is located in Jackson with a student population more than 4,200. The University is a private, four-year, coeducational liberal arts-based university offering bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees. It was founded in 1823, Union is the oldest institution affiliated with Southern Baptist life.

This is the second Lady Trojan to join the Lady Bulldog program in recent years. Former Millington standout Tabitha Burau.
