Oct. 4

The Millington Library Boosters will have their next Book Sale on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Civic Center on Wilkinsville Road.  Come check out all our new books.  Prices for Hardback books are either $1. or $3.  Paperback books are $.25, .50 or $1.00.  All proceeds go to support the Millington Public Library.  For more information, call Bitha Luze at 872-3635.

 

Oct. 5-6

The Saint William’s Women’s Club will be having a yard sale on Friday from noon-7 p.m. and Saturday from 7 a.m. – 2 p.m.  The Club will be in the Annex, next door to the church on Easley.  To rent a table call Ruth Ann Olson at 872-7636.

 

Tipton-Rosemark Academy will host Bethel University Renaissance Theater’s performance of “Smokey Joe’s Café” Oct. 5 & 6 at  7 p.m. in Performing Arts Center Tipton Rosemark Academy.

Oct. 6

West Union C.P. Church located at 3099 West Union is hosting a communitywide yard sale Oct. 6 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Spaces are available for a fee with one table and two chairs provided. Oct. 7

A free benefit concert is planned for Oct. 7, at 4 p.m. at Kerrville Presbyterian Church.  Everyone is welcome to attend and enjoy music from Kerrville Pres (Jeanne Inville, Shane Swindle & David Dunn), Robert Horton, The Faith Singers and Lindsey Curin accompanied by Cliff Curin, Faith Assembly Trio (Richard Findley, Billy Hitcher, Ken Koat).  The concert will feature religious and secular music.  Donations will be accepted for cemetery decorations and upkeep at Kerrville Presbyterian Church.  For more information, call David Dunn at 491-5338.

 

Oct. 8

The Millington Civic Center is hosting the annual Ecumenical Bazaar on Saturday, 2011 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Banquet Hall. The event features crafts, baked goods, Christmas decorations, and much, much more! Breakfast and lunch will be served for $5.00. Drawing for many raffle items will be held at 3:30 p.m. You do not need to be present to win.  For more information, call Susan Howard at 835-2426.

 

The Milllington Book Chat Club will meet in the home of Mrs. Kenneth Hinshaw at 7 p. m.  The program will be presented by Mr. Scott Graves  fromThe Booksellers who will review new books for 2012-13.  For information call Caryl Rawls at 872-7812.

 

Oct. 11

A “Community Forum” will be held on Thursday, 7 p.m., at Lucy Baptist Church, 4005 Lucy Road, Millington, in the Christian Activities Building.  This informational meeting includes special guests Millington Interim Mayor Linda Carter, several current and newly-elected aldermen, and city department leaders who will share about the proposed Lucy annexation, schools situation, and visions for the area.  All Lucy residents and citizens of the community area are invited to attend.  For more information, please call the Church Office at 872-0623; e-mail to info@lucybaptist.com; or visit our website at www.lucybaptist.com.

 

Oct. 13

The Millington Ecumenical Bazaar will be held on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Civic Center on Wilkinsville Road.  There will be Arts, Crafts, Canned Goods, Baked Goods and lots of other stuff.  Please come and support your local Churches.  Breakfast and Lunch will be served for a minimal fee.  For more info call Susan Howard at 835-2426.

 

Oct. 16

Oct. 20

The Clopton United Methodist Church located at 5285 Brighton Clopton Road in Brighton will host it’s Fourth Annual Clopton Fest on Oct. 20 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the church grounds. Oct. 19

Family Skate Night will be held on Oct. 19 from 6–9 p.m. at the Millington Civic Center gym. Entertainment will be provided by Jordabella Entertainment.  Admission is $5 and includes the use of our skates.  Non-skating parents are admitted free.  Concessions will be sold.  The school with the most students in attendance will win the traveling Skate Night trophy.

 

Oct. 20

Team Trivia Night at the Millington Civic Center Gym.  Doors open at 6 p.m., trivia begins at 6:30 p.m.  There is a fee.Each table must be pre-reserved; reservation deadline is Wednesday, Oct. 17.  Please call Millington Arts and Recreation at 873-5770 or Samantha McCracken at 233-0981 to reserve your team’s table.

 

Join Millington Arts and Recreation and MWR for the first annual Oozeball Tournament.  Oozeball is volleyball played in approximately eight inches of mud.  6-10 players per team. Tournament is limited to the first 20 teams to register. Teams must have at least 3 girls on the court at all times. All players must wear shoes and shorts/pants.  Swim tops are acceptable. Lazy Anchor Fall Festival will be held Saturday 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at the Lazy Anchor Ranch, Naval Support Activity Mid-South, Millington. Free Hay-rides to the Pumpkin Patch (kids 12 and younger can pick a free pumpkin); free activities for kids including face painting, moon bounce, climbing wall, and more. Oct. 26

Movies at the Market: Millington Arts and Recreation is proud to announce “Movies at the Market” at the Millington Farmers’ Market on Oct. 26.  We will be showing “Ice Age: Continental Drift” starting at 7 p.m.  There is a admission fee, and includes popcorn, tea, lemonade, and water.  Bring your blankets and lawn chairs, and enjoy an evening of family, fun, and entertainment.  For more information, call 873-5770.

 

Oct. 27
