Rebels shutdown Tigers in Middleton

The Tipton-Rosemark Academy Rebels got back into the win column Friday night.

The Rebels traveled to Middleton and beat the Tigers 13-0. TRA jumped ahead 6-0 in the second quarter with a pair of Ethan Carpenter field goals.

Then the Rebels iced the game in the fourth quarter when quarterback Austin Chambers ran in a 4-yard TD.

The TRA defense kept the Tigers in check all night. Middleton only managed 164 yards of offense and were limited to 36 plays.

The Tigers only had possession of the ball for 18 minutes and 59 seconds. Meanwhile TRA dominated the clock behind the running of Whit Whitaker and Ethan Kaiser. The duo rushed for nearly 100 yards leading to the Carpenter kicks of 27 and 28 yards.

The Rebels return home this Friday to take on Jackson Christian School with a 7 p.m. kickoff.

In other action, the Brighton Cardinals are above .500 beating Carver 30-0 in one quarter. Stormy conditions hit the area about 7:30 Friday night bringing an end to the action in Brighton.

By that time the Cardinals had the contest in control behind two Antonio Dickerson touchdown runs. Dickerson also caught at TD pass from Brady Stewart from 29 yards out.

Thaddeus Currie got into the scoring act for the Cardinals with a 24-yard run. Brighton looks to improve to 5-3 on the season traveling to Hardin County. Tipton County’s other team the Munford Cougars return to action after a bye week this Friday at Jackson North Side.
