Millington Area Chamber of Commerce to host Appraisal Open House this Friday.

Collectibles Appraisal Open House presented by the Millington Chamber of Commerce will be held from noon to 5 p.m. this Friday at the Holiday Inn Express in Millington. This is a chance to find out if collectibles, tools, artwork, furniture, glassware, nick-nacks, etc. are worth keeping or tossing aside for the next neighborhood yard sale. Join the Millington Chamber of Commerce this Fridat at the Holiday Inn Express on Highway 51, as we bring to you two experts and appraisers to help you determine the value of your family treasures. You may purchase two verbal appraisal tickets (two items) for $25 or 5 items for $50. Limited five items per person (cash, check, or VISA/Mastercard will be accepted for ticket purchases). Oct. 27

Fall Festival at the Millington Farmers’ Market from 8 a.m.- 1 p.m. Hay rides, pumpkin painting, balloon animals, fresh fruits and veggies, and more! For more information, call 873-5770.


Kroger, at 240 New Byhalia Road in Collierville, will be hosting a safety event on Saturday, October 27 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. This event will incorporate the important role safety plays in trick or treating.


The Heritage Festival will be held at Meeman Shelby Forest State Park Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Shelter No. 3 located at 910 Riddick Road in Millington. It’s free to the public and for more information call 876-5215.


A special invitation is being sent out to the Millington Navy Base for the upcoming Halloween Dance  hosted by the VFW Post 5225 at 4065 Avalon Street in West Memphis, Ark., Saturday at 8 p.m. with the Terry Logan Band. Fellowship Baptist Church will hold its annual Craft Fair Bake Sale and Flea Market Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will be crafts of all kinds, Christmas baskets and arrangements, homemade jams and jellies. Citywide Clean-Up presented by Millington City Beautiful. Meet at Jameson Park at 8:30 a.m. T-shirt, gloves and bags will be given, lunch will be provided following the clean up. For more information, call 317-0888.


Oct. 28

Halloween Carnival at the Millington Civic Center Gym from 5-7:30 p.m.  Free admission. Costume contest, games, candy, prizes, candy corn guessing game, and more. Concessions will be sold.  For more information, call 873-5770.


Oct. 29

The faculty and staff of Millington Central High School cordially invite you to attend College and Career Night 2012 on Monday, Oct. 29 from 6-8 p.m. in the lobby of the Main Building. All MCHS students and their families are encouraged to attend. This is an excellent opportunity for students and parents to receive information on college admissions requirements, career and technical programs, military, scholarships, financial aid and additional information that can be useful in preparing for college or entering the workforce. Representatives from more than 50 colleges, universities, vocational schools, and the military will be available to provide information and answer questions. Oct. 31

Come out to Kerrville Faith Assembly of God for our Family Fall Festival Halloween night at 7 p.m. at 9540 Highway 51 North, Millington. There will be games, moonbounces, trunk or treating cars, hay rides and food. The theme is “God’s Creation!” Costumes are encouraged but please No scary costumes.

Nov. 2-4

The 22nd Annual James Logan Colbert Rendezvous will be held Nov. 2-4 at Meeman Shelby Forest State Park. Take a step back into the 1740-1840 time period and walk in someone else’s moccasins. Enjoy tomahawk throws, vendors, novelty shoots and age old games. It’s open to the public from Saturday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 9 a.m. to noon. For those camping, there will be a fee. Nov. 3

The St. William’s Women’s  Club is having their Annual Harvest Dinner and Silent Auction on Sat. Nov. 3, 2012.  We will be serving Turkey & Dressing and all the trimmings.  The Auction will be from 4  to 6:30 p.m. and dinner will be served starting at 5:30. Nov. 7

West Union C.P. Church will host its annual Craft Bazaar Nov. 10 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 3099 West Union. The deadline to register is Nov. 7.
