Trojans seniors Will LIttles and Allen Moore react to the news of making the Class 6A State Football Playoffs.

Just moments after volunteering in the Millington City Beautiful Citywide Cleanup, Millington Trojan seniors Will Littles and Allen Moore received the news they will be playing in the Class 6A State Football Playoffs next Friday at Brighton. Littles, an offensive lineman, embraced his quarterback with the news.

The Trojans (5-5) were placed as a seventh seed to take on the District 13-3A champion Brighton Cardinals. Will Wolfe’s Cardinals finished 7-3 on the season.

Brighton’s 28-27 victory over Millington earlier this season sparked a winning streak for the Cardinals and helped them earn a No. 2 seed in the playoffs. The winner of the game Friday in Brighton will move on to play the winner of Bolton/Germantown.

The No. 1 seed in the quad is the unbeaten Whitehaven Tigers. The Tigers will face Collierville in the first round. Southwind and Houston are the four and five seeds respectively.

The Brighton/Millington game will kickoff at 7 p.m. this Friday in Brighton.
