Star Staff Reports
Local BNI Chapter, Tri-County Connectors, had their first Visitors’ Open House on Sept. 25 at Cole’s Home Solutions in Millington. There were 44 in attendance.
The guest speaker was Mike Kopp, owner of WindowTreatments, Arlington.
Kopp gave his testimony on how BNI impacted the success of his business. “Joining BNI is the best decision I have made in the 25 years that I have been in business.
My business sales had bottomed and advertising was not helping. Now my sales are higher than they were before the recession.” Other speakers included Jeff Avant, financial planner for Edward Jones, Bartlett; Debbie Baskin, agency/owner Farmers Insurance, Brighton; and John Harber, owner Professional Construction Solutions, Atoka.
BNI is the largest business networking and referral marketing organization in the world. Currently BNI has over 6,000 chapters in operation, with over 145,000 members in United States, Canada, and 47 other countries.
The mission of BNI is to help members increase their business through a structured, positive, and professional “word-of-mouth” program that enables them to develop long-term, meaningful relationships with quality business professionals.
BNI’s philosophy is built upon the idea of “Givers Gain®”: By giving business to others, you will get business in return.
Being a member of BNI is like having dozens of sales people working for you. Because members carry a copy of each other’s business card, when a member meets someone who could use your products or services, they take out your card and recommend you.
The BNI Tri-County Connectors meet every Tuesday at 7:30 am at Cole’s Home Solutions, Millington TN. For more information contact Bart Watkins, Top Notch Custom Countertops, 361-7549.
