The MKG Show is heading to Bethel

By Thomas Sellers Jr.

With her parents Amy Easley and David Gantt by her side, Mady Kate signed her national letter of intent to play softball at Bethel today.

Mady Kate Gantt signed her national letter of intent today to play softball at Bethel University in McKenzie.

With several schools after the talented utility player, Gantt selected the Lady Wildcats because of the atmosphere, Head Coach Larry Geraldi and her major of special education.

The Tipton-Rosemark Academy Lady Rebel has been a three-year starter for Joe Layton’s program. As the leadoff hitter for TRA Gantt has a high on-base percentage, and solid batting average.

Her sophomore year Gantt used her leadoff hitting skills to score the winning run in the 2011 Division II-A State Softball championship game in Murfreesboro. The win gave TRA it’s first State title in any sport.

Gantt followed up that campaign with a standout junior year leading the team in several offensive categories. The Lady Rebels returned to State.

Gantt has seen time at several position on the field from the outfield to the infield.
