Trojans open 2012-13 season against MHEA

The Millington Trojans and Lady Trojans opened the 2012-13 season tonight in the William Osteen Gymnasium against the MHEA Eagle teams.

The Lady Trojans got into early foul trouble falling behind 31-20 at halftime to the Lady Eagles. MHEA held off Millington to win 49-40.

Two Lady Eagles reached double figures with Bailey Wilkes leading the way with 19 points. She made 12 of 17 free throws. Her teammate Emily Lytle nailed three triples to score 17 points.

Lady Trojans Kendra Richardson and Tiara Caldwell tallied 9 points each.

In boys action, the Trojans faced foul trouble early with 24 fouls called on them. But Millington used hot shooting from Johnathan Patterson, El Paso Johnson and late three-poiner from Tim Thompson to overcome the adversity for a 45-35 halftime lead.

Coming out of the locker room Kelby Hollowell and Jordan Browning paced Millington with 14 points in the third quarter leading to a 79-55 victory.
