Following Felicia – Munford Christmas Parade

By Felicia Watkins

Santa waves to South Tipton residents last Saturday during the Munford Christmas Parade.

The Munford Christmas Parade started  at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday with several happy children ready to grab candy and see the special guest at the end. The Parade took place at Munford Avenue, between Beaver Road and College Street. The route was lined with people waiting to get a glimpse of Santa Clause on the last float of the night. During the parade children were filling their hands and pockets with candy being thrown from the decorated floats, motorcycles, cars and trucks as they went by. The floats arrived from Beaver Road onto Munford Avenue and continued down College Street to the gazebo at the City Park where a tree lighting with the Munford High School Band and Choir, Santa and Mayor Dewayne Cole ended the festivities.

Attendees were asked to bring a new toy to “Fill the Sleigh” for Toys for Tots for Tipton County children. You could do this as the sleigh passed or bring your gift to the tree lighting at the gazebo in the City Park after the parade.
