Ritter Communications, a provider of advanced telecommunications services and broadband technologies to businesses and residential customers in northeast and north central Arkansas, completed its purchase of Millington Telephone Company, Inc. and Millington CATV, Inc. on Dec. 11, company officials announced.
The acquisition, originally announced in October, represents approximately 20,000 business and residential customers in parts of Shelby, Tipton, Haywood and Fayette counties in West Tennessee.
Millington Telephone and Millington CATV customers will not see any immediate changes, Ritter officials said.
“Right now, the only thing that has changed is the ownership,” said Dan Hatzenbuehler, CEO of E. Ritter & Company. “This is the beginning of a process, and all of us at Ritter are looking forward to new and exciting changes yet to come.”
“Our plan is to upgrade equipment and enhance services for customers in 2013, and that work begins now with a formal infrastructure assessment,” said Ritter Communications Ppresident Chip Dickinson. “Stay tuned for announcements regarding new advanced services in the months ahead.”
Ritter currently serves 25,000 residential and business customers in more than 45 communities in Arkansas with high-speed Internet, phone services and cable TV and is a recognized technology leader in the rural communications industry.
Customers of Millington Telephone and Millington CATV should continue to call and visit the local offices and speak with local customer representatives with any questions regarding services or billing, Ritter officials said.
