WILLIAM ‘POPS’ LEE BECKMAN

William “Pops” Lee Beckman, 78, passed away Dec. 16, 2012.  He was a retired Navy veteran, lifetime member of VFW Post 7175, member of the American Legion, and owner of Pop’s Bar ‘n Grill. He is survived by his wife, Jeanne Beckman; daughters, Linda Lee Beckman of Munford and Patti (Kevin) Fagan of Theodore, Ala.; sons, Thomas Beckman of Memphis, Gregory Kent (Pat) Beckman, William Oren (Sheri) Beckman, and Christopher Michael (Annette) Wright all of Millington; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Visitation will be held Wednesday (Dec 19) from 4pm until the service at 6pm at the Millington Chapel.  The family asks any floral tributes be baskets or potted plants. BRADY LOUIS COBB

Brady Louis Cobb, 1-month-old son of Brandon and Rebekah Cobb, passed away Dec. 19, 2012. He is also survived by his brother, Brandon Tyler Cobb and his grandparents, John and Ruth Shockley of Drummonds and Bradley and Beth Cobb of Brighton. CAROLYN MATHIS 

Carolyn Mathis died in a car accident on Dec. 14, 2012. She was a distinguished Sign Language Interpreter and advocate for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Community for over 30 years. Her interpreting assignments ranged from the Clinton Tour Bus in 1992 to Bill Haslam’s Inauguration in 2011. She was past president of the Tennessee Registered Interpreters for the Deaf. At the time of her death, she was employed by Hamilton CapTel as the Outreach Coordinator for the Tennessee Captioned Telephone Program. Carolyn loved traveling, fine cuisine, and people. She had a knack for meeting famous people. Carolyn was a free spirited, fun loving, mother, wife, and friend. She is survived by her beloved husband John, her dear children Tony Ward, Tara Ward, John S. Mathis, Jason Mathis, Pamela Welch, Thomas Mathis, and Tim Mathis and her cherished grandchildren Andrew Stonecipher, Charis Ward, Daniel Mathis, and Abigail Welch. She is also survived by her mother Eleanor Cerminero, sister Lisa Shelton, and brother Ritchie Parker. Service was held Dec. 20 at the Munford Chapel.
