BBB helps Naval Support Activity Mid-South Kick Off Military Saves Week

Capt. Stephen Fimple, Commander, Naval Support Activity Mid-South signs a proclamation designating the week of Feb. 25-March 1 as Military Saves Week.

The week of Feb. 25 – March 1 was designated as Military Saves Week. Naval Support Activity Mid-South kicked off the week with a BBB presentation of a workshop entitled Tricks of the Trade: Outsmarting Investment Fraud. The program is part of a partnership between the BBB and the FINRA (Financial Investment Regulatory Authority) Investor Education Foundation.

The BBB/FINRA Smart Investing program that helps consumers to better understand:

* What the face of fraud looks like.

* The risk factors that differentiate victims from other investors.

* The most common persuasion tactics used in investment fraud.

* How to protect oneself from investment scams.
