The Fourth Annual Bunny Hop 5K took place this morning at Aycock Park benefiting the Millington Relay for Life. Several ran in the event with Millington resident Jeremy Tincher completing the course first in a time of 22 minutes and 22 seconds.
The top woman finisher was Laura Swain in a time of 25 minutes and 35 seconds. The Bunny Hop 5K is just one of the event during the Millington Relay for Life season. The Celebrity Waiter Dinner was held last month. And on April 12, Relay for Life returns with the annual Gong Show at the George Harvell Civic Center. There is still time to signup as an act for the show.
Then on May 18, Relay for Life’s Main Event honoring cancer survivors will be held also in Aycock Park. Since the arrival of Relay for Life in Millington, volunteers have raised more than $400,000 for cancer research. The Easter Egg Hunt that was scheduled for today was postponed because of rain. It may be rescheduled for a future date.
