Walk into the doors of Cheep Cheep Chicken, a chocolate fudge brownie is handed to you.
Just as sweet as the dessert, Cheep Cheep Chicken Manager Bridgette Crenshaw also greets customers with her warm personality assisting them on their frozen food needs.
More than a month ago, Cheep Cheep Chicken owner Ed Crenshaw brought his business to 4657 Navy Road selling chicken, fish, ribs and other items in bulk at resonable prices.
“That’s what it is, cheep cheep chicken,” Bridgette said. “We have the most incredible prices that you could imagine here. We’re here for families who need to stretch their dollars. That’s what we’re here for.
“We have chicken ranging from $9.99 a bag and lower for five-pound bags,” she added. “We have farm raised catfish which is Pride of the Pond out of Mississippi. That is the best for your friends and family.”
The freezers at Cheep Cheep Chicken are filled with boxes of ribs, large bags of Pride of the Pond Catfish and heat and serve chicken like wings, spicy buffalo chicken and more.
Other produces on site are onion rings, French fries, vegetables, cooking oil, sauces and charcoal. An addition feature at Cheep Cheep Chicken will be the friendly helpful service of Bridgette and assistant Marquet Young.
“We’ve got great conversation,” Bridgette noted. “We’re like family. And we always give out brownies. So we know what are customers need because we talk to them.
“We are great for graduations, family reunions and family cookouts,” she added. “We have everything you need, cheap, cheap.”
Bridgette is from New Orleans and has live in the Memphis area for several years. Ed, from North Mississippi, moved to the area 25 years ago.
With a bakery already in Memphis, Crenshaw wanted to bring a business to Millington that would add to the strong family values in the area. He noted Millington and Tipton County are known for family gatherings cooking food to fellowship.
“Our produces are first rate,” he said. “It comes from Tyson and other manufacturers. We have the same chicken sold at Wendy’s and McDonalds. The catfish is Mississippi farm-raised. It’s not from China. We only sell Tunica-raised catfish from Pride of the Pond. It’s the best catfish anywhere.”
Crenshaw said Cheep Cheep Chicken is more than just chicken and will always work to have the best deals for residents in the area.
“We want you to fill your baskets,” he said. “We have a 10-pound box of ribs for only $15. Where else can you find that? And you can see the quality of them. We will offer the best with wholesale prices like Sam’s. And you don’t even need a membership.”
Under the watchful eye of mascot Swaddles the Chicken and a brownie in hand, the staff at Cheep Cheep Chicken want to be the supplier of your next dinner, large gathering or cookout.
“Whenever they come in and have a function, they put it down on paper,” Bridgette concluded. “And we’re going to make sure they have what they need and want. We give quality service and quality products. We put you first.”
