The Munford High School Girl’s Tennis team won their fourth straight Region 7 -3A Championship Thursday by defeating Arlington.
The team, anchored by Senior Taylor Patterson and Madison Willis, finished the regular season with a 13-0 record, won the District 13-3A Championship in Jackson the previous week, and continued by beating Arlington in the Regional 4-2.
Patterson and Willis have been the anchor to a team that in the past four years has amassed a record of 52-2 regular season wins.
Besides the team’s district and regional championships, they have won many individual honors as well. Taylor Patterson has won two straight district and regional championships and has made two straight state tournament appearances, one as a sophomore and one as a junior, and was a doubles district runner-up her freshman year.
She competed for another trip to the State Tournament Monday in Jackson. Madison Willis has won two district runner-up doubles championships, a singles runner-up championship, and a regional runner up championships. She will compete in the Regional doubles championship this week.
