Today in the Brighton High School Library, the Cardinal Baseball program celebrated a pair of signing. First up was Matt Scoot inking a letter of intent to play for the Dyersburg State Eagles and Head Coach Robert White. Then minutes later, Caleb Armour made it official by signing to play for Southwest Tennessee and Head Coach George Sykes. The duo signing represented No. 27 and No. 28 in the 12-year career of Brighton Head Coach Brian Oswalt.
The veteran skipper said Dyersburg will receive a dependable leadoff type of bat in Scott. For four years Scott was a starter for the Brighton Cardinals. Oswalt said he has one of the best gloves he ever placed in his lineup at shortstop or second base.
Armour how has some pop in his bat was the No. 1 on Oswalt’s pitching staff. He won games against quality opponents like Dyer County and Jackson North Side this past season. Armour will play his college ball at USA Stadium in Millington.
