Millington resident Angela Hayes celebrated Hat Day with the seniors at Casa Grace Senior Home located at 3815 Austin Peay. Hayes, who is the music director at the senior living facility in Raleigh, said the guest at the event enjoyed the day, and “Don’t the seniors look lovely in their hats?”

Spring Saturdays
The Millington Crisis Center, located at 8133 Wilkinsville Road, will have a yard sale (rain or shine) the first Saturday of each month from 8 a.m.-noon. For more information or to donate, call 872-HELP (4357).

The Exchange Club of Millington meets at Old Timer’s Restaurant in Millington at noon every second and fourth Wednesday of the month. Guest are always welcomed. For more information, call 872-8888.

Month of May
St. William’s Catholic Church is having a golf tournament June 1 with a shotgun start at 2 p.m. at the Forest Hill Golf Course, Tate Road in Drummonds. There are fees for the tournament.  You can go to WWW.CDOM.ORG/WEB_SITES/STWILLIAM/DEFAULT.HTML for a registration form.  Registration forms and checks must be in to the office at 4932 Easley Ave, Millington, TN 38053 by May 18. The kickoff will be May 31, 2013 with a spaghetti dinner and silent auction furnished by the Knights Of Columbus at the Family Life Center at Church from 6 to 8 p.m.  Tickets are available at the door.  Cost is $7 per person.  For more information, call Kenny McCain at 378-4505.

May 25
Author C. Ross Landrum Book Signing Event will be held May 25 from 2-6 p.m. at the Millington Public Library, 4858 Navy Road in Millington.  Landrum, a resident of Millington, will be available to sign copies of his book, Past, Present, and Future: Second Edition. What would happen if there were a Nuclear Holocaust? Who or would be left to rule? There have been several sites much like “STONEHENGE” found worldwide; all with a circular pattern and an arch or two. What is their real significance? And what about the possible secret underground site in the swamps of southern Louisiana? The possible answers to these questions and others are included in this volume along with other thought to provoke your brain. May 31
Auction sponsored by the Youth Department at West Union Cumberland Presbrterian Church on May 31. Donations will be gladly accepted. A spaghetti dinner will be served prior to the auction. Spaghetti dinner at 5 p.m. and auction at 6.  All proceeds will be used to sponsor a youth trip to the inner city. Call 876-5757 ext 3 for more information or to schedule a pickup.

June 1

The Millington Library Boosters will have their final book sale for the summer on Saturday June 1, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The sale will be in the book room at the Civic Center on Wilkinsville Road. June 2-7
Munford Baptist Church located at 1253 Munford Ave. presents Vacation Bible School  2013 Kingdom Rock from June 2– 7 from 6– 8p.m. for Kindergarten to fifth grade. Kids will experience and epic adventure with inspiring music, exciting discoveries, and energizing games!  They will develop a rock-solid faith as they discover how to stand strong for God. June 8
Yard sale at West Union Cumberland Presbyterian Church will be held June 8. There is a fee for a booth, one table and two chairs. Items can be donated, setup is inside and outside. Concession stand will be open. For table reservations call Sharon Hance at 876-3285.

CONCERTS BY THE GREEN – GLEN EAGLE GOLF COURSE
Every Friday in May – Concerts by the Green Concerts by the Green is a series of free concert events held every Friday in May 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Glen Eagle Golf Course on Attu Street in Millington. Admission is free and event is open to public. Bring your blankets and lawn chairs. Food and beverage items will be available for purchase. Picnic baskets will be allowed, no coolers please. Family friendly area will feature bouncy castle. For more information, call 874-5168.

Faith Baptist Church located at 900 Simmons Road will host Vacation Bible School
Son West Roundup June 9-13 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. for ages 3 years old to sixth graders. Kids will have a Rip Roaring time with Jesus  on the Son West Roundup based on Hebrews 13:8 NIV-Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever. For more information, call 837-2683.
