TRA’s Brandon Mitson signs his letter of intent to play at Southwest.

Tipton-Rosemark Academy Rebel Brandon Mitson has been having a good week. Last Wednesday he found out he will be a part of the Second Annual State Farm/Shelby County All-Star Game to be played May 28 at USA Stadium in Millington.

On Saturday he was a part of the 38th graduating class at TRA with the ceremony held at the First Baptist Church in Millington. And today Mitson made it official that he will play college baseball at Southwest Tennessee by signing his letter of intent.

Under Head Coach Brad Smith, Mitson had a monster senior season with 7 home runs. The graduated Rebel also hit .403 with 12 doubles and 42 RBIs. With 31 hits on the season, Mitson had a slugging percentage of .857. Southwest Head Coach George Sykes said he is excited to bring a player with potential to hit for power into his program. Sykes also noted Mitson has good speed on the bases and in the outfield.
