Star Staff Reports
The PGA of America recently announced its schedule for the 2013 PGA Junior Series, which will open at Justin Timberlake’s Mirimichi, May 29-31, in Millington.
“Junior golfers from across the country will get a chance to play some terrific venues during the 2013 PGA Junior Series, as well as have a chance to qualify for the Junior PGA Championship, the summer’s premier junior championship”, said PGA of America President Ted Bishop.
Justin Timberlake’s vision of golf came to fruition in the championship designed and environmentally friendly Mirimichi Golf course, the only golf course in the world with both Audubon International Classic Sanctuary and Golf Environment Organization certifications. Highlighted by beautiful scenery and lush surroundings, Mirimichi’s Championship Course, measuring over 7,400 yards, serves as a challenge to golfers of all skill levels with its native grasslands, deep pit bunkers and winding creeks throughout the course. Mirimichi was just voted by GolfWeek as the number one golf course you can play in Tennessee.
“We are thrilled to be the first stop on the PGA Junior Series and we feel confident the players will enjoy the event at Mirimichi. Mirimichi is dedicated to helping grow the game of golf through junior events and helping develop the skills of those who are new to the game. Earlier this year Mirimichi hosted the USJGT and received very positive feedback from the players, coaches and parents”, said Greg King, Director of Golf at Mirimichi. “We look forward to the 2013 PGA Junior Series.”
