The latest Millington Central High School Trojan to sign from the Class of 2013 is Willie Mudbone. The two-year starter for the Trojan Basketball team inked a national letter of intent earlier this week to play for upstart Florida National University just outside of Miami.
Mudbone, who grew up playing basketball all over Memphis, came to Millington in 2011 to be a part of Rob Sabau’s squad. Mudbone was one of the leading three-point shooters for Sabau while handling shooting guard duties.
Friends and family, including parent Caroline and Butch, were on hand this afternoon in the MCHS Library to celebrate Willie’s signing. With the Nike shirt, “Basketball Never Stops,” Mudbone said he wanted to thank his parents, family, friends, teammates, coaches and Millington administration for helping him stay on course to reach his dream of playing college hoops.
