Anchor Donation Taken at City Hall

There is a fund set up at Millington City Hall located at 7930 Nelson for finding a future home for the retrieved anchor. Since the beginning of the month, a group including former Millington Mayor Richard Hodges, have been seeking ideas to find a new permanent home for the anchor. The group of local citizens purchased the anchor which was a gift from the U.S. Navy. The anchor was removed off Highway 51 from in front of Millington Transmission. The group of citizens is teaming up with the Millington City Beautiful Commission to place the anchor in a proper place in Millington. Donations started coming into City Hall last week including one from City Attorney Charles Perkins. Other residents of Millington have brought in donations that will go toward paying for a new home for the anchor.
