Bolton pushes tempo against Millington

ARLINGTON — Before 10 minutes tickedSoccer Dawn Taylor play off the Bolton Soccer Field scoreboard, the host Lady Wildcats were ahead 4-0. Despite Millington Lady Trojan senior goalie Emily Stewart making several athletic saves, her team was behind 5-0 at halftime. Bolton kept the pressure on the Millington defense with well-executed passes leading to shots to win 9-0 in the District 14-3A contest.
The Lady Trojans dropped to 2-2 on the season and the victory was Bolton’s third of the season. The Lady Wildcats started its path toward victory with a goal from Rachel Harbin assisted by Hannah Bode just 2 minutes into the game.
At the 36-minutes and 50-second mark Bolton was up 2-0 when Hailey Simpson scored a goal courtesy of a Carly Fallin pass.
About 3 minutes later the Lady Wildcats were on the scoreboard again when Elizabeth Wiggins got behind the Millington defense shooting a shot into the net. Simpson had the assist on the point.
The score became 4-0 when Harbin tallied her second goal of the game at the 32:08 mark. Simpson had the assist.
For the next seven minutes the Lady Trojans were able to gain possession of the ball and had a couple of shots on goal. But the attempts didn’t connect.
At the 25:25 mark of the first half, the combo of Simpson to Harbin was good for another point. Harbin had a hat-trick before halftime.
Bolton build on it’s 5-0 lead from the break with a pair of goals from Wiggins and Harbin in the final 40 minutes. Wiggins finished with three goals and Harbin led all scorers with 5 points.
Wiggins tallied the final goal fo the game coming off a pass from Brittany Fryman.
