With the NHRA Countdown to the Championship taking two weeks off, resuming  Oct. 24–27, at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Millican will be returning to his roots this weekend, as the Drummonds native competes at Memphis International Raceway as part of the IHRA World Finals.
With six IHRA World championships under his belt, Millican remains the IHRA’s most decorated driver in history. Millican will be making his first start in IHRA Top Fuel competition in more than five years, reigniting one of the greatest rivalries in drag racing history as he squares off against Bruce Litton during the IHRA Nitro Jam season finale.
“Bruce was the runner-up to me in at least four of my six championships, so I’m looking forward to racing him again,” Millican said. “It’s going to be a lot of fun to be competing at home again on the same track that I grew up racing at every weekend as a kid because we’ll have the whole family out there.”
On that night, Jimmie Millican won’t have to wait for hours to find out how his son did.
