The Brighton Cardinals improved to 6-1 on the season after traveling to Bolton Friday night picking up a 28-19 victory.
The Cardinals fell behind early after a Camaron King 20-yard TD catch from Austin Clark. Then Brighton scored 21 unanswered to take the lead for good.
The Cardinals scored twice in the second quarter to take a 14-7 advantage into the locker room. T-Wayne White tied the game with a touchdown reception from Colton Hathcock.
Hathcock went back to the air locating junior wide out Kolton Childress for a 32-yard TD.
Brighton made the score 21-7 in the third quarter when sophomore running back Zach Ballard found the end zone for a 7-yard score.
Bolton trimmed the Brighton lead to 21-13 after a Clark to Marcus Banks touchdown from 5 yards out.
To ice the game, the Cardinals called on Blue Curry. The senior running back scored from 3-yards out to make the score 28-13.
Clark to King ended the scoring on the night. But Bolton came up short and dropped to 1-6 on the season. Brighton returns to action this Friday to play Station Camp at home.
It was homecoming at Tipton-Rosemark Academy this past Friday and the Rebels concluded the celebration with a 28-0 win over the Middleton Tigers.
TRA score two touchdowns in the first and fourth quarters. Zach Dickson score on a 1-yard run to get things started. Then Austin Chambers made it 14-0 with a 5-yard burst into the end zone.
In the fourth quarter Chamber used his arm to find Logan Stewart for a 29-yard touchdown reception. And to finish off the night Sean O’Brien reached paydirt with a 6-yard run.
The Rebels rushed for 215 yards on the night with Dickson responsible for 66. Chambers tallied 95 yards on the ground. TRA improved to 3-4 on the season. The Rebels will travel to St. George’s this Friday for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
