Calendar of Events November 14

Following Felicia: The Field of Flags has been on display in Atoka at the Town Hall since the beginning of the month. Other similar fields have been formed throughout Tipton County benefting the Carl Perkins Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse.

Month of November
The Covington Exchange Club and the South Tipton Exchange Club is A Field of Flags To Benefit the Exchange Club – Carl Perkins Center for the Prevention of Child Abuse. A display of American flags with each flag representing the life of a patriot. Whether it be a War Veteran, Active Military personnel, National Guard Member, Reservist, Firefighter or Law Enforcement Officer who serves in our community today, or in memory of those who have served in the military of their country, or someone who has lost their life in the line of duty. Nov. 1-14 flags will be displayed in Atoka, Brighton, Covington, Munford, and Rosemark. For more information call, 476-1515

Tops (Taking Off Pounds Sensibly)  meets on Fridays from 9-11 a.m. at Millington Community Center. Come join us the group to have fun. For more information, call Doris Landerman at 573-8536.

The Exchange Club of Millington meets at Old Timer’s Restaurant in Millington at noon every second and fourth Wednesday of the month. Guest are always welcomed. For more information, call 872-8888.

Family Skate Night
Nov. 15, 6-9 p.m. @ Civic Center
Family Skate Night is held on the third Friday of each month from 6– 9:00 p.m. at the Millington Civic Center gym. Entertainment will be provided by Jordabella Entertainment or Look Left Entertainment. There is an admission fee and includes the use of our skates. Non-skating parents are admitted free. Concessions will be sold. The school with the most students in attendance will win the traveling Skate Night trophy!

Board of Mayor and Aldermen

Board of Mayor & Aldermen – Work Session
Nov. 21, 5 p.m. at City Hall Chambers
Meeting is to have presentation from Municipal Technical Advisory Service (MTAS) of the University of Tennessee on the results of their review on our Fire Department and other items which may come before the Board. Nov. 16
A craft bazaar will be held at West Union Cumberland Presbyterian Church on Nov. 16 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Booths will be available inside the Family Living Center.  For more information or to rent a space, call Sharon Hance at 876-3265.

Thanksgiving in the Park sponsored by HOSANNA Tabernacle of Praise will be in the Munford City Park at 63 College Street in Munford from noon to 3 p.m. this Saturday. The guest speaker will be Dr. George Campbell. There will also be a coat and turkey give-a-way. The Thanksgiving in the Park will include bounce house, games, refreshments, bands, dramas, balloon animals, face paint and more. It’s supported by surrounding churches, ministries and businesses on behalf of Jesus. For more information, call 840-4540.

Chief Servant Community Mega Feast 2013 Free Pre-Thanksgiving Dinner will be held Thursday at the Millington Civic Center from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. It free to all families, churches, friends and neighbors. Nov. 20
Kids in Christ the King is a youth program at West Union Cumberland Presbyterian Church. It is a program for youth ages 3-17 years old. It will meet on Nov. 20 at 6 p.m. and the theme for dinner is
“Let’s Give Thanks.” Dinner will include pizza. For more information, call 876-5757, ext 3.

Nov. 21
The National Active & Retired Federal Employees Association, Chapter 1382 meeting will be held at noon, Thursday at Old Timers Restaurant in Millington.  For more information, call Carolyn Cribbis at 413-7123.

Nov. 23
Embury United Methodist Church located at 2060 Locke Cuba Road will be having their annual “Christmas in the Forest” bazaar on Saturday. The church will have baked goods, canned goods, crafts, soup luncheon and a white elephant sale.Come join the church from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. For more information, call Liz at 876-3091.

Nov. 28
On Thanksgiving Day, Soul Out and DREAM Inter Faith ministries will host the Thanksgiving Feast at Baker Community starting at noon.
Carolyn Jenkins, of Soul Out Ministries started feeding the needy at Baker Community Center earlier this year. Her food outreach program will be on dispay Thanksgiving feeding those in need. Month of December
Christmas Time at the Y. Come by the Millington Family YMCA on Friday, Dec. 6 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. or Saturday, Dec. 7 from 10 a.m.  to 1 p.m., for our Annual Christmas Craft Fair  which features edible goodies, crocheted and knit items, jewelry and more for sale.
On Saturday, Dec. 14 start early and participate in our Santa Swim by swimming one mile, the nursery will be available, all proceeds go to children programming in the Millington community area.
