Town of Atoka clean up after Ice Storm

Following the February 2014 ice storm that impacted south Tipton County, the town of Atoka will offer enhanced brush collection services for town residents beginning on Monday, February 10.  The Town typically offers a brush collection services for residential trash customers but in the wake of the recent storm, that service will be expanded to all Town residents.
To request a collection, residents should place all debris to be collected curbside BEFORE submitting a request for pick up.  Debris must be cut into sections no longer than five (5) feet in length and bundled, if possible, for pick up.   Smaller limbs and branches that are less than five (5) inches in diameter should be bundled for collection.

In addition:

  • Normal size and quantity limits for yard waste collection will not apply during this debris collection.
  • Only tree and yard debris will be accepted for collection.
  • Residential waste will not be collected by the Town as a part of this added service.
  • Regular Town trash collection will not be impacted by this added service.

Once debris has been placed curbside for collection, residents can request a pick up online at or by calling Atoka Public Works at (901) 837-5301.  Storm debris collection will be offered at no charge to all Town residents through the month of February.
Citizens wishing to dispose of storm debris on their own can deliver the debris to the back parking lot of Nancy Lane Park. Debris collected will be chipped and used on park walking trails and flower beds.
For more information, contact Atoka Public Works at (901) 837-5301.
