Baptist Memorial Hospital-Tipton announces new CEO

COVINGTON — Baptist Memorial Hospital-Tipton has hired Sam Lynd as its administrator and chief officer.
Lynd came to Baptist Tipton from NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro, Ark. He will be responsible for managing all of Baptist Tipton’s operations. Lynd joined Baptist Memorial Health Care aas a Frank S. Groner administrative fellow in 2011.
He then served as an assistant administrator at Baptist Memorial Hospital Union County and NEA Baptist Hospital.
“Sam demonstrates strong leadership and team-building skills to bring to a hospital,” Zach Chandler vice-president and metro market leader of Baptist Memorial Health Care said. “His previous positions have prepared him well to oversee and manage Baptist Tipton to meet the needs of our patients.”
Lynd holds a Master of Science in health care management from The University of Alabama.
Lynd is a native of Memphis and he started in his new role Feb. 10. Baptist Tipton is an award-winning 100-bed hospital in Covington that offers inpatient and outpatient care with mult9-specialty services, a surgery center, diagnostics, sleep lab and emergency department.
