Hall adjusting well at CBU

MAUMELLE, Ark. — The Christian Brothers University Bucs earned their second victory of the season last month as they won this week’s Central Baptist College Invitational at The Country Club of Arkansas, with Colton Hall (Tipton-Rosemark Academy) winning medalist honors for the tournament. Hall shot 2-over-par (72-74-146) on the 6,558-yard, par-72 course, winning by five strokes over a three-way tie for second place between Seminole State’s Sebastian Otoya, Central Baptist’s Austin Harmon and Oklahoma Wesleyan’s Renior Knox. The 2-over-par finish is the best of Hall’s career, and his first-place finish is also his first.
Mitchell Bennett (Christian Brothers) (77-75-152) and Carter Billingsley Evangelical Christian School) (75-77-152) tied for fifth place at 8-over. Leo Castillo (Monterrey, Mexico/Montverde Academy) was eighth place at 10-over (77-77-154), and Daniel Kraus (Christian Brothers) completed CBU’s team with a 14th-place finish of 12-over (77-79-156).
As a team, the Bucs shot 28-over (301-303-604), winning by 16 strokes over Southwestern Christian. Central Baptist, Oklahoma Wesleyan, Seminole State, Mid-America Christian and Lyon also competed in the tournament.
