Two of the best athletes in Millington Central High School made their college futures known today in the school’s Library. Kendra Richardson will be heading to Walters State in East Tennessee for basketball while LaKeron Garcia will play football at The University of Memphis.
Garcia is a three-sport athlete at MCHS participating in football, basketball and track. He made his name known across the Mid-South for football scoring five touchdowns in a game against the Brighton Cardinals. To conclude his prep career, Garcia scored three touchdowns in the 2013 AutoZone Liberty Bowl High School All-Star Game.
Richardson has reached State in track during her days as a Lady Trojans. And she has also spent four years with the basketball team. Along side Head Coach Bruce Marshall and a senior quintet, Richardson helped the Lady Trojans in the 2012-13 District 14-3A regular-season and tournament titles. This past season she was the leading scorer and rebounder for Millington.
