For the 18th time in seven years, the Tipton-Rosemark Academy Rebel Baseball program celebrated a signing of a player to the next level. The latest took place today on the TRA Campus with senior catcher Jacob LaFosse inking his letter of intent to play for the Southwest Saluqis starting this fall. The signing of LaFosse will give the backstop the chance to play in the historic USA Stadium.
Saluqis Head Coach George Sykes noted LaFosse’s defense and management of a game were big factors in him offering a scholarship.
LaFosse helped author a no-hitter for Memphis signee Connor Alexander this season. And LaFosse has one of the highest on-base percentages for Brad Smith’s Rebels helping the team win their Division and Region titles.
LaFosse and the Rebels take on Davidson Academy tomorrow starting at 4:30 p.m. at Rebel Field for the right to go to the 2014 Division II-A State Tournament in Murfreesboro.
