Lawson earns scholarship award

local individual earns modern Woodmen of America Nontraditional scholarship award

Natasha Deanne Lawson has been awarded a $1,000, one-time, educational award in a national competition with other Modern Woodmen of America members.
This grant program can assist Modern Woodmen members age 25 and over who are working toward an undergraduate degree or certificate from an accredited college, university, trade or technical school.
Modern Woodmen, a fraternal benefit society offering financial services, has local representatives and is based in Rock Island, Ill.
Lawson, Millington, plans to use the award to attend Dyersburg State Community College, Dyersburg, Tennessee.  Lawson is one of ten award winners chosen this year.
During the past 45 years, Modern Woodmen has committed millions of dollars in financial assistance to hundreds of students through its Fraternal Scholarship Program.
Applications for the 2014-2015 Nontraditional Scholarship Award Program will be taken in the fall of 2014. woodmen logo
