Some 150 area residents attended a Chinese auction and spaghetti dinner to raise funds for the Millington Crisis Center and St. William Catholic Church on Saturday evening, May 17. The annual event raises approximately $1,400 each for both organizations. A wide range of items were up for bid including a Nook e-reader, gift cards to area retailers and household items. Crisis Center Director Lois Wilber stressed funds are always needed for the Center’s to fulfill its mission to aid those in crisis in the community. She urged event attendees to participate in the Center’s Terracycle recycling program and to designate the organization as a charity of choice in the Kroger Community Rewards program.
