College News Update June 5

*Brown graduates from Rhodes

On May 10, Stanton Brown graduated from Rhodes College in Memphis. Brown, a 2010 graduate of Millington Central High School, is the son of Thelma and Oscar Brown of Millington. While at Rhodes Brown played for the football team and participated in several academic ventures.

*Evans earns Masters

On May 10, Rachael Kathleen Evans graduated from St. Ambrose University, located in Davenport, Iowa. She graduated with a Masters of Occupational Therapy degree. Evans is a 2005 graduate of Millington Central High School. She is the daughter of Steve and Gail Evans of Millington.  Her grandparents are William and Sandra Evans (both deceased) of Syracuse, N.Y. and Richard (deceased) and Wilma Pratt of Geneseo, Ill.

*Meis obtains degree from FHU

Freed-Hardeman University has released names of local students on the President’s List and Dean’s List for the spring 2014 semester. The President’s List requires a grade point average of 4.0 and full-time status. To be named to the Dean’s List, a student must earn a minimum GPA of 3.40 while taking at least 12 credit hours.
Ben Meis, from Millington, has been named to the Dean’s List for the spring 2014 semester. Meis is a senior majoring in Biology.
