With the guest speaker Tracy Robinson as the backdrop, the monthly Millington Area Chamber of Commerce Luncheon for June focused on Millington educational opportunities. Members of the Millington School Board, Millington Director of Schools Dr. David Roper  and members of the Millington Education Foundation were on hand for the meeting held at the Millington Family YMCA June 3.
Chamber President was joined by Chairperson Dianne Baker to present a check to the Millington Education Foundation for $1,000. The money was raised during the annual Chamber Golf Tournament. The tournament featured 122 players and 31 teams.
After the check presentation, Robinson addressed the chamber members about the University of Memphis online courses and opportunities.
Two new faces were introduced to the chamber audience at the luncheon in interns Abby Barger and Alexandra Bobbitt. The recent high school graduates will take on the paid internship assisting those who run the Chamber and network with Chamber members in their first “real world” work experience.
Bobbitt started her education at E.E. Jeter before attending Tipton-Rosemark Academy. She has been a vital part of the sports department at TRA serving as a manager and athlete. She graduated with distinguished honors from TRA and will attend The University of Missouri.
Barger walked the halls of E.A. Harrold before becoming the valedictorian of Macon Road this past school year. She will attend UT-Chattanooga this fall.
