Brighton’s Webb heading to Bethel Baseball

The Brighton Cardinal Baseball program celebrated the signing of Jared Webb today in the BHS Library. Webb will be heading to Bethel University in McKenzie to play for Head Coach Rusty Thompson. Webb was joined by his high school coaches and family members parents Jeff and Debbie, sister Lynsey and grandmother Barbara Waldon for the ceremony.

Webb’s high school coach Brian Oswalt noted Bethel will get a complete player. Webb went 4-2 from the mound with 2 saves and a 2.42 ERA for the season. He only gave up 5 earned runs in 27 innings.

Webb’s bat was hot toward the end of the 2014 season batting .372. He had an on-base percentage of .390 the entire season. It shot up to .490 during the Cardinals’ run to Regionals.

In his final varsity game against Bartlett, Webb went 2-3 in the contest.
