Millington Stop

Some of Millington’s dignitaries and community leaders welcomed Juvenile Court Judge Tarik B. Sugarmon to town June 25 with a meet and greet at the Kobe Japanese Cuisine. With the restaurant serving as a backdrop, Sugarmon’s sister Erika and niece Selena McClure greeted visitors and campaign supports for Sugarmon as he spoke about his run for Juvenile Court Judge. A native Memphian, Judge Sugarmon is the son of former Judge Russell B. Sugarmon and Dr. Miriam DeCosta-Willis. The event was hosted by community leaders Charlotte Smith, Linda Harris and Debra Sigee.
With the future of children being the main theme, Shelby County School Board District 3 candidate Anthony Lockhart attended the meet and greet to share his message and discuss a vision for the children of Memphis, Northaven, Woodstock, Lucy and Millington.
Lockhart is up against Teddy King and Stephanie Love for Shelby County School Board District 3. Sugarmon is running against Dan Holman Michael for Juvenile Court Judge.
