Philip B. Keith, Jr. of Millington, passed on peacefully with his family at his side at the Methodist Hospice Residence in Memphis, on June 13, 2014. Phil was born in Plainfield, N.J. on Nov. 17, 1934 to the late Edna Montenecourt Keith and Philip B. Keith, Sr. He grew up in New Jersey and Maine, graduating from Westfield High School (N.J.) in 1953. He completed an Associates Degree program at Highland Community College in Freeport, Ill. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Carol, his first wife and forever friend, Rosalie Allely, four children Philip Keith III (Eva) and Linda Tammen of Long Beach, Miss., John Keith (Carey) of Mobile, Ala., David Keith (Terry) of Gretna, La., a sister, Elizabeth (Betty Sue) Keith of Lewiston, Maine, eight grandchildren and nine great-gandchildren. Following his four years of military service in the U.S. Air Force which took him to France, Phil worked for Honeywell, Inc. from 1959 to his retirement in 1990, first as a technical representative in the Aero Division as an autopilot technician then in the data processing division, applying his skilled expertise on mainframe computers. His Honeywell assignments took him to many locations, including Spain, Otis Air Force Base, Massachusetts, Illinois, Pennsylvania, Arizona, Iran, Louisiana, and lastly, the Naval Air Station in Millington. Phil earned his private pilot’s license, was a member of the Civil Air Patrol for 14 years and a member of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary for 33 years. Phil was a member of Third Church of Christ, Scientist in Memphis. A memorial service were held Saturday, June 28, at Memorial Park Funeral Home in Memphis.
