The event held last month was sponsored by the Millington Airport Authority as a “Meet and Greet” of the local pilots with CTI Professional Flight Training. CTI Professional Flight Training, A subsidiary of the Memphis based Crew Training International (CTI) has been training professional pilots at its Fort Lauderdale location for over 25 years, and recently expanded its operation to a satellite base at Millington Regional Jetport. This expansion includes a complete renovation of an existing hangar at the Jetport, an order for twenty new fully-equipped training aircraft, and plans for a full campus-style training experience, including on-site dorms, dining, and recreation facilities. CTI Professional Flight Training’s unique training format can take a student from zero hours experience to a licensed commercial pilot in approximately six to eight months. It’s time for the Millington Central High School Class of 1984’s 30-year reunion. The committee is planning a blow out celebration Aug. 29 from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. at Fixins Restaurant at 45 Reeder Ave. in Munford. Classmate David Mcree has offered to close off the eatery for a private party. The Millington Lions Club meets at Olympic Steakhouse in Millington every second and fourth Tuesday at noon. The Lions Clubs works around the world for visually impaired and hearing impaired. The public is welcome to join the Club members and to make additional inquiries.

The Millington Crisis Center located at 8011 Wilkinsville Road will be hosting a Back to School Sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. this Saturday rain or shine, inside or outside. School clothers are $1 each. There will also be school supplies, home pillows, bed toppers, summer items, glassware, small appliances, books, decorative shelves, luggage, snow shovels and more. All proceeds go directly to the general operating fund of the Crisis Center.

The Millington Central High School Football Booster Club will be holding two clean-up days at the MCHS Football Stadium and invites all of the community to join the club. The dates are Saturday Aug. 2 and 9. Boosters will be there working throughout the day from 8 a.m. until the evening. The public is invited to bring weedeaters, rakes, shovels, paint brushes/rollers, gloves and more.

Children (preschool and elementary) can wear their backpacks to church that day and receive a small set of school supplies.
