Early morning storms left some Millington area parents with an unpleasant surprise Monday morning.
Parents and students were greeted when they arrived to their schools to delays of two hours on because of power outages.
Some students were already on their buses when the decision was announced. They were taken home to wait for schools to open two hours later. MLGW said more than 5,000 homes and businesses in North Shelby County lost power Monday morning.
