Common Core to be discussed at next School Board meeting

Millington Schools logoMillington Municipal Board of Education will discuss Common Core at their next scheduled meeting Feb. 2.
The Board will be deciding whether to go on record with a position either for or against Common Core the present state mandated standards for Tennessee public education. There is considerable debate about Common Core standards and it is anticipated that this will become topic of considerable debate and legislation during the present Legislative session in Nashville.
The Millington School Board desires to receive input during the public comments session of the meeting from Millington residents within the Millington Municipal Schools attendance zone which includes Millington city limits and annexation reserve area as well as a parents of students who attend Millington schools who live outside of the area.
They also want to receive input from teachers and administrative employees who work in the Millington Municipal Schools. Others who want to give input to the board are asked to mail information to Board Chairman, Don Holsinger at Millington Municipal Schools, 5020 Nelson Ave. Millington, TN 38053 or e-mail to dholsinger@millingtonschools.org
