Cougar Soccer Teams recognized again for academics nationally

SONY DSC SONY DSCThe Munford Cougars soccer teams have once again received the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) academic award.  Last month in Philadelphia the NSCAA held the convention where they named handed out their annual awards.  The Munford Cougars soccer team both boys and girls were at the top of the list, being only one of only fifty-five teams in the United States to both receive the award.  The boys team maintained a 3.65 GPA for the year, putting them first in the state of Tennessee out of four schools while the girls with a 3.55 were fourth of six school in the state.  This makes the thirds straight year that both of these teams have received the award.

“I am extremely proud of what these young men and women have accomplished on and off the field,” Head Coach Kyle Selby said. “They have a lot to be proud of and at this time may not recognize just what they have obtained, but in the future will see how their hard work has paid off.  I would like to thank them for their commitment and hard work along with their parents for the support of this program.”
