The Millington Lions Club meets at Olympic Steakhouse in Millington every second and fourth Tuesday at noon. The Lions Clubs works around the world for visually impaired and hearing impaired. The public is welcome to join the Club members and to make additional inquiries.

Millington Airport Authority Board of Commissioners Meetings are scheduled at 3:30 p.m. every third Tuesday at Millington Regional Jetport. For more information, call 873-5796.

Jordan’s Thrifts, Gifts & Java located at 6646 Highway 51 North by Plantation Oaks Hotel will be starting classes on Jan. 6 from 6-8 p.m. for the following classes: Domestic Violence, Shelter from the Storm (Overcoming Sexual Abuse) and Celebrate Recovery (Overcoming Addictions). West Union Cumberland Presbyterian Church is inviting all to their Sunday morning worship services. The subject of the worship services during January, 2015, is Stewardship. Rev. James Hamblin will be delivering the message each Sunday morning at 11 a.m.

The Exchange Club of Millington meets at Old Timer’s Restaurant in Millington at noon every second and fourth Wednesday of the month. Guest are always welcomed. For more information, call 872-8888.

Soul Out Ministries’ Hot Nutritional Meal are served every Thursday at the Baker Community Center at 7942 Church Street from noon to 1 p.m. The program is a local non-profit organization and all donations are tax deductible. March 18
KICKS will meet on Wednesday night, March 18, at West Union Cumberland Presbyterian Church at 6 p.m.  Dinner will be served at 6 p.m followed by worship, crafts and recreation.  The theme is Rock Star Night.  For more information, call 876-5757.

March 21
The Jackson Culley Mito-What 5K is celebrating its sixth year. This year’s theme is “Heroes Unite.” The Sixth Annual Mito-What 5K is scheduled for March 21 at the USA Stadium in Millington. They are expecting hundreds of racers to join in on race day. The organizers want participants and businesses to take part in the event. Over the past five years, the organizers have raised more than $100,000 for the United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation. March 28
Community Health Fair will be held rain or shine from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Temple United Methodist Church located at 4404 Sykes Road in Millington. On site will be the Lifeblood mobile, college of dentistry, eyeglass adjustments/cleaning, Flag City cross-fit, certified health nutritionist, certified yoga instructor, master gardeners, and Arlington Chiropractic just to name a few.  We will be having free giveaways as well. Come join the health fair and be a part of this educational opportunity that the church’s Food & Faith Ministry is offering.

Returning in 2015 –
April 10 & 11 in Atoka
After a very successful years, the Atoka BBQ Fest will be back again in 2015. The contest will take place in Atoka on April 10 and 11. It will be located at Nancy Lane Park, 118 Atoka Park Ave., on the South side of the Park. The contest will again be sanctioned by the Memphis Barbecue Network, featuring Pro and Challenger divisions. New for 2015, is the Kids Cook-Off, don’t forget to check it out. All of the great live music, family entertainment, and vendors will be back again.
