As a recipient of the A.F. Bridges Divisional Finalist Award, a senior student athlete at Millington Central High has been awarded a $1,000 scholarship.
The TSSAA Board of Control has earmarked $27,000 toward a scholarship fund to recognize outstanding student athletes from the A.F. Bridges Divisional Finalists. The criteria for the selection of the student, Dante Pitts, to receive this scholarship will be established by MCHS and student athletes will be recognized later during the school year.
Pitts was selected as an outstanding senior student athlete who is exemplary of the high standards of ethics and integrity. According to the requirements, Pitts also displays an overall understanding that sportsmanship is merely citizenship in the athletic arena.
Pitts will receive the TSSAA A.F. Bridges $1,000 scholarship. The scholarship will be designated for continuing education and the money will be sent to the college or university in which the recipient is enrolled. In June, we will mail a letter directly to the student with specific details on steps to follow to apply for receipt of the scholarship money.
The award winners will be recognized in the Spring Issue of the TSSAA News.
