Preparedness Seminar in Millington

Flag City LogoThe University of Memphis will co-sponsor Millington Emergency Preparedness Seminar.
The city of Millington, West Tennessee Seismic Safety Commission, University of Memphis and CERTPlus will present a free emergency preparedness seminar and expo March 31 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Harrell Civic Center Auditorium in Millington.
“Millington Get Ready!” will focus on the citizens of Millington, but is open to everyone.
Among the presentations will be “Impact of an Earthquake” by Dr. Steve Horton, West Tennessee Seismic Safety commissioner and geophysicist with the U of M’s Center for Earthquake Research and Information; “Severe Weather” with Jim Jaggers, New Channel 3 meteorologist; “Flood Mitigation” with Darek Baskin, Millington city engineer; and “Contingency Plans” with J.D. Dill, Emergency Management Program director for Naval Support Activity Mid-South.
There will be displays by CERTPlus, Tennessee Emergency Management, Shelby County Office of Preparedness, the American Red Cross, MLG&W, Delta Amateur Radio Club and Ritter Communication.
