On a field full of Trojans, one stood tallest tonight at Miles Park in Millington.
Millington Trojan senior Lucas Van Emelen helped his team defeat the Northpoint Christian Trojans 14-1 hitting for the cycle driving in 6 RBIs.
The historic moment of completing the cycle came in the fourth inning with two runners on base. Van Emelen crushed a Northpoint offering 375 feet over the left-centerfield wall to add to his single, double and triple that already drove in three runs.
“It was amazing,” Van Emelen said. “I don’t know how to explain it honestly. I felt amazing when I hit that home run. Coach said it’s probably one of the hardest things to do in baseball. People play their whole lives and are never able to do it.”
The Trojans jumped out 3-0 after one inning and added a run in the second inning. Then Millington exploded for 6 runs in the third inning with several players contributing.
The Trojans are back in action tomorrow morning at 9 a.m. taking on the Covington Chargers at Miles Park.
