Exchange Club Officers 7-2The Exchange Club of Millington installed its new Club Officers recently at Old Timers Restaurant. Exchange member Pat Anderson, did the installing ceremony of new club officers at the June 24, meeting. Month of July
The Millington Lions Club meets at Olympic Steakhouse in Millington every second and fourth Tuesday at noon. The Lions Clubs works around the world for visually impaired and hearing impaired. The public is welcome to join the Club members and to make additional inquiries.

The Millington Optimist Club meets at 6 p.m. the second and fourth Thursday of the month at Pig N Whistle located at 6084 Kerrville Rosemark Road. For more information, call George Crews at 872-4232 or e-mail gcrews79@gmail.com

The Millington Quilters Guild meets every Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Maple Room located at 7942 Church Street. Weekly activities and projects are developed for all levels of quilters. This group makes several items to give back to groups such as veterans, families in need, those injured overseas, and children’s hospital’s.

Millington Airport Authority Board of Commissioners Meetings are scheduled at 3:30 p.m. every third Tuesday at Millington Regional Jetport. For more information, call 873-5796.

The Exchange Club of Millington meets at Old Timer’s Restaurant in Millington at noon every second and fourth Wednesday of the month. Guest are always welcomed. For more information, call 872-8888.

Soul Out Ministries’ Hot Nutritional Meal are served every Thursday at the Baker Community Center at 7942 Church Street from noon to 1 p.m. The program is a local non-profit organization and all donations are tax deductible. Sarge’s Okinawan Freestyle Martial Arts will started April 1 at Baker Community Center in Millington. The American Wado-Ryu Federation International Hall of Fame Enductee Shihan R.L. “Sarge” Covin will be the instructor on Monday and Wednesdays from 5 to 7:30 p.m. The classes are free for children ages 5-18. Millington City Beautiful Gardening Series “Kitchen Gardens–Gardening with Herbs” Evelyn Moseley, President, Memphis Herb Society Saturday, July 11, 11 a.m. at the Millington Farmer’s Market located at 5152 Easley Street. It is free to the public. For more information, call 872-2609.

July 16
The National Active & Retired Federal Employees Association, Chapter 1382 meeting will be held at noon, Thursday at Old Timers Restaurant in Millington. The guest speaker will be Anthony Bradley of the Bradley Law Firm who will discuss estate planning and elder law. For more information, call Carolyn Cribbis at 413-7123.

July 18
ABMA Mid-South Inaugural Summer Jam from 5 to 10 p.m. Saturday. The Summer Jam includes a free concert featuring the Section Eight Band, all hands invited and bring a chair. The event will take place at Navy Lakes 6231 Kerrville Rosemark Road in Millington. Free parking is available. Millington Arts & Recreation presents Trivia Night from 6 to 9 p.m.. Doors open to the Sycamore/Cyprus Rooms located at 7942 Church Street at 6 p.m. with trivia starting 30 minutes later. There is a fee per team. For more information, call 873-5770.

Munford Band Golf Tournament fund raiser for the 2015 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade will be held July 25 at Forest Hill Golf Course located at 200 Kubo Road in Drummonds. Registration is at noon with a shotgun start at 1:30 p.m. There is a cost per team (four-person) which includes lunch, cash awards and door prizes. Aug. 22
The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7175 is hosting a dinner show on Saturday featuring Jeffery and The Pacemakers playing the music of the Beatles, Kinks, Rolling Stones and other famous band of the 1950s and 60s from The British Invasion. This is a dinner and a two hour show with dinner starting at 6:30 p.m. The show begins an hour later. For tickets and more information, contact the VFW at 4681 Cuba-Millington Road and 872-7185.

This Summer
West Union Cumberland Presbyterian Church will be having a series of sermons based on the book of Romans.  The title of the series is ‘The Gospel of God.’  The sermons will be on Sundays, starting June 28 and ending Aug. 9, at 11 p.m.  The sermons will be delivered by Rev. James Hamblin.

The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7175 has a new commander that was effective Friday Lt. Col. Charlie Cox (Ret). He will assume command of Post 7175. The Post invites the public to 4681 Cuba-Millington Road for music, drinks, food, karaoke and much more. Come and meet the decorated veterans who live in the community.
