Applications Being Accepted for the Shelby County Citizens’ University

shelby-county-sealThe Shelby County Mayor’s Office is now accepting applications for the next session of the Shelby County Citizens’ University, Aug. 20 through Nov. 5.
“Citizens get a behind-the-scenes look at Shelby County Government and how their tax dollars are spent,” says Shelby County Mayor Mark H. Luttrell, Jr.
The 12-week course will be held on Thursdays from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at many Shelby County Government facilities.
Presentations Include:

·        Mayor
·        Chief Administrative Officer
·        Administration
·        Finance
·        Information Technology
·        Community Services
·        Corrections
·        Health Department
·        Planning and Development
·        Public Works
·        Public Affairs
·    County Attorney/Public Defender/Divorce Referee
·    Office of Preparedness
·     Elected Officials (Trustee, County Clerk, Assessor, County Commission)
·   Shelby County Election Commission

Go to www.shelbycountytn.gov and look for the link to the Citizens’ University.  Applications must completed by 4:30 p.m. on Aug. 12.   For more information, contact Diane Brown at 222-2012.
