The Millington Lions Club meets at Olympic Steakhouse in Millington every second and fourth Tuesday at noon. The Lions Clubs works around the world for visually impaired and hearing impaired. The public is welcome to join the Club members and to make additional inquiries.

The Millington Optimist Club meets at 6 p.m. the second and fourth Thursday of the month at Pig N Whistle located at 6084 Kerrville Rosemark Road. For more information, call George Crews at 872-4232 or e-mail

The Millington Quilters Guild meets every Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Maple Room located at 7942 Church Street. Weekly activities and projects are developed for all levels of quilters. This group makes several items to give back to groups such as veterans, families in need, those injured overseas, and children’s hospital’s.

Millington Airport Authority Board of Commissioners Meetings are scheduled at 3:30 p.m. every third Tuesday at Millington Regional Jetport. For more information, call 873-5796.

The Exchange Club of Millington meets at Old Timer’s Restaurant in Millington at noon every second and fourth Wednesday of the month. Guest are always welcomed. For more information, call 872-8888.

Soul Out Ministries’ Hot Nutritional Meal are served every Thursday at the Baker Community Center at 7942 Church Street from noon to 1 p.m. will return Sept. 10. The program is a local non-profit organization and all donations are tax deductible. For more information, call program founder/coordinator and CEO Carol Jenkins 949-1675.

Sarge’s Okinawan Freestyle Martial Arts will started April 1 at Baker Community Center in Millington. The American Wado-Ryu Federation International Hall of Fame Enductee Shihan R.L. “Sarge” Covin will be the instructor on Monday and Wednesdays from 5 to 7:30 p.m. The classes are free for children ages 5-18. VFW Post 7175 will present ‘Ladies Night’ on Wednesday from 7 to 11 p.m. There will be food, drinks, karaoke, dancing and special prices for women. The event will continue regularly until further notice. For more information, call 872-7175.

Aug. 12
Fall Refuel Groups are set to begin Aug. 12.  Groups include 180 Degree Ministry (Addiction recovery), Divorce Care, Grief Share, Depression Support Group, Financial Peace, and English as a Second Language.  There are also groups for those interested in learning Biblical truths related to marriage and parenting.  Children of all ages are welcome as they experience Bible study and worship.  Fellowship meal begins at 4:30 p.m. with groups beginning at 5:30, 6, and 6:30 p.m.  For more information go to  Register online or call our church office at 872-2264.

City of Millington presents Senior Exercise from 9 to 10 a.m. in the Cyprus Room (5) located at 7942 Church Street in Millington. For more information, call 873-5770.

Aug. 20
The National Active & Retired Federal Employees Association, Chapter 1382  meeting will be held at noon, Thursday, Aug. 20 at Old Timers Restaurant in Millington.  The guest speaker will be  Millington Mayor Terry Jones.  For more information, call Carolyn Cribbis at 413-7123.

Aug. 22
The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7175 is hosting a dinner show on Saturday featuring Jeffery and The Pacemakers playing the music of the Beatles, Kinks, Rolling Stones and other famous band of the 1950s and 60s from The British Invasion.
This is a dinner and a two hour show with dinner starting at 6:30 p.m. The show begins an hour later. For tickets and more information, contact the VFW at 4681 Cuba-Millington Road and 872-7185.

Pokerface Events and New Stars Wrestling (NSW) Owner, Quenton “Pokerface” Williams, has announced the date and location of the Second Annual Millington Mayhem pro wrestling event Sept. 19 at the N-82 Gymnasium. The theme will be Loving Our Troops. The gym holds a capacity of 2,000. Pokerface Events will have a booth set up at this year’s Goat Days for wrestling fans and area residents can meet Williams and purchase advance tickets. Williams has also invited Millington VFW Post 7175 as special guest, as well as other area VFW’s. There will be free admission to active and retired military with PROPER MILITARY ID. The 26th Annual International Goat Days Family Festival returns to USA Stadium Complex in Millington Sept.11-12. Goat Days will include the Paul Bunyan Lumberjack Show, the West Tennessee Mini Pullers, NBHA Barrel Racing, Community Village vendor booths, live music and food, a KCBS Championship BBQ Contest, Show and more.
