Area Football Wrap Up: Week 1

The Brighton Cardinals opened the 2015 season Friday night at home against MAHS with a 49-6 victory sparked by the running of No. 32 Zach Camp. The Cardinals also got solid play from players like Cameron John. The Cardinals return to action this week at home against Dyer County. In other area action, the Tipton-Rosemark Academy Rebels were defeated by Tupelo Christian 38-2. Tupelo scored 19 points in the second quarter to pull away. The Rebels will travel to Greenfield this week in search of win No. 1. The Munford Cougars earned their first win of the season in double overtime against rival Covington 17-14. The Cougars prepare for another rivalry game this week at Millington in the M&M Bowl.
